This first day marked the beginning of collective co-creation, with a significant role played by laypeople and promising prospects for the following days.
On the second day of the Review, January 17, reflections focused on “A presence that walks with” and “An outgoing and networked presence.” Mother Chiara opened the session by highlighting the importance of synodality, not just as an organizational process but also as a tool for strengthening mission bonds. The fundamental role of Salesian assistance was emphasized, underscoring collective responsibility in educating young people and vulnerable individuals. Groups discussed being an outgoing and networked presence, converging toward a vision of co-responsibility and openness to the world. The day concluded with a prayer session and a recreational evening, strengthening the fraternity among participants and sharing initiatives tied to the goals of Laudato Si’.
The afternoon was dedicated to the protection of minors and vulnerable people, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the most fragile. The day concluded with presentations on some FMA missions within the Provinces and an explanation of the logo for the 150th anniversary of the first missionary expedition, encouraging shared responsibility for a more compassionate world.
The final day of the Review began with a symbolic procession of gratitude to the Lord for this experience. Mother Chiara shared reflections on the future of the Charism in Africa, followed by group discussions on the themes of the next General Chapter, while lay participants shared insights about collaboration with the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. Their work was summarized and approved, and the day concluded with various acknowledgments and a closing Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Don Felice.
The CIAM Review ended with a festive evening featuring performances by the Provinces and the “Good Night” message from the Superior General, reminding everyone of the importance of “always finding oneself in the heart of Jesus,” as Mother Mazzarello used to say.
