Camps & Oratories
The Salesian Sisters (Daughters of Mary Help of Christians – FMA) in the Africa East (AFE) Province are committed to the holistic education and evangelization of young people, especially the most vulnerable. Among their key pastoral initiatives are camps and oratories, which provide a safe, faith-filled environment where children and youth grow spiritually, socially, and intellectually.
The Sisters organize holiday and summer camps that offer young people opportunities for personal development, leadership training, and Christian formation. These camps include catechesis, life skills training, sports, music, and recreational activities. They create an atmosphere of joy, friendship, and faith, helping young people deepen their relationship with God while developing essential life skills.
Inspired by St. John Bosco’s vision, the oratory is a welcoming space for young people to find formation, recreation, and community. The Salesian Sisters run oratories in different communities across the AFE Province, fostering a family spirit where young people receive moral guidance, academic support, and pastoral care. As centers of evangelization, the oratories equip young people with values that shape them into responsible citizens and faithful Christians.
Through these initiatives, the Salesian Sisters continue their mission of empowering young people, helping them realize their potential, and guiding them toward a future filled with hope and purpose.
